Dance Variations on Persian Themes

On Thursday August 21, the award-winning and internationally acclaimed dancer/choreographer Shahrokh Moshkin Ghalam came to Los Angeles at the UCLA Freud Playhouse. This program went on tour in 2007 in Vancouver and San Francisco, and in 2008 in Europe.
This was one night of elaborate dance choreography, inspiring poetry, music and ART! It was also an avant-garde collaboration with the legendary artist and architect Houshang Seyhoun. Seyhoun's drawings, which were exhibited in 1972 alongside works by Dali and Picasso, are projected and incorporated into Moshkin Ghalam's remarkable choreography. Some of these works by Seyhoun can be seen on the pictures below.
About the choreographer:
The dancer/choreographer Shahrokh Moshkin Ghalam established his Paris-based dance company Nakissa in 1997. He is also a renowned actor and director. He is an official member/actor at the prestigious Comédie Française in Paris, and performs in major plays and operas all over Europe. He is also the recipient of many awards.
