Eric Tibusch, artistic director and couturier, arrived in Paris when he was 18, and was immediately implanted in the French fashion scene. Of mixed origins, Eric Tibusch was raised in Bonifacio, a fortified port city in Corsica, an island South of France. He spent his childhood between Tahiti and Corsica prior to his education in metropolitan France.
Eric Tibusch was learning and working amid fashion and creation in Paris when he was discovered by Jean-Paul Gaultier in 1998. He was immediately placed in the Haute Couture department, and during the eight years that followed, Eric’s palette was formed and refined through his exposure to one of today’s great masters of couture.
Upon his departure from the house of Gaultier, Eric Tibusch undertook fashion development and program direction for Copenhagen Fur, working with other maisons de couture such as Lagerfeld, Galliano, Rick Owens and Undercover.
Autumn-Winter 2006/2007 marks the beginning of Eric Tibusch Paris, maison de couture. The first collection, simply titled “Happiness”, paid homage to the Polynesian culture that Eric grew up in.
